The Executive Officer of the Consumer Affairs Unit is Ms. Karen Marshall. Provisions for the establishment and functioning of Consumer Affairs are contained in the Consumer Protection Act 1999, the Copyright and Design Act 2003 and the Supply of Services Act 2003. The mission of Consumer Affairs is to protect the rights of consumers by ensuring fair trade practices, product safety and redress. This is achieved by encouraging a spirit of partnership through collaboration, the provision of information to the public and where necessary, enforcement. This Unit is staffed by five full-time employees.
